Eagle Dancer & Raven Dancer (Set of 2 serigraphs with matching numbers)
The Eagle is a family crest from Henry's father and grandmother. This design of a dancer dressed as an Eagle is inspired by the dances of the Tsimshian people. All that we see of the dancer is the face in the centre and the arm. The rest of the design depicts the headdress and the rest of the dance regalia.
The Raven is another one of the four major crests of the Tsimshian people. This design is also based on dance regalia from ceremonies.
Henry's wife and sons are members of the Raven clan, and this design is a tribute to them.
This set of limited edition silkscreen prints titled "Eagle Dancer & Raven Dancer" by Henry Reece was hand produced by the screen printing process. It is the only limited edition printing of these designs. The artist has inspected and signed each copy in the editions. All trial copies of these editions have been destroyed and the printing stencils obliterated.
